What is MERP?

Mid-East Racing Promotions was created to bring Grand Prix style racing back to Ohio with a clear focus on rider experience and race quality. MERP is committed to delivering well run, competitive motorcycle racing built around maximum seat time and minimal downtime.

A MERP Grand Prix combines two of Ohio’s most popular disciplines Motocross and Hare Scramble. Our trail crew designs a unique off-road loop that ties directly into the motocross track at the regions premier racing facilities. The result is a fast, flowing course that challenges riders across multiple styles of terrain.

The race format is simple and effective. A single 35 minute moto that delivers the perfect balance of intensity and endurance. Paired with scheduled motos throughout the day, MERP events are designed to keep riders on the track and out of the pits.

Who is MERP?

MERP was founded by lifelong racers. The organization is built on decades of combined experience in motocross and off-road racing, with a shared belief that Grand Prix racing deserved a stronger presence in Ohio.

These are racers who understand the sport from the inside. From lining up at the moto gate to navigating tight woods sections, the MERP team designs events based on real racing experience and firsthand knowledge of what riders value most.

MERP exists because its founders chose to turn experience into action. The program is driven by intentional planning, continuous improvement, and a willingness to invest the time and resources needed to deliver consistently high quality events.

Growth and evolution are part of the process, but the mission remains the same. Raise the standard of Ohio racing and provide riders with events worth traveling for.
